Amy Matthews

Hello, Raiders.

I am the counselor for alpha O-S. I can help with academic, social, and emotional needs.

I graduated from Shallowater High School in 1995, received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Abilene Christian University in 2000 and my Master of Education from University of North Texas in 2007.

I have been practicing as a school counselor since 2008. I was a counselor at Crownover Middle School for 12 years and this is my third year as a Ryan Raider. I am a member of the Texas Counseling Association and the Texas School Counselor Association.

Prior to my counseling career, I taught high school English and coached track and basketball. I love sports and can still be found at the state track meet each year, as well as cheering on the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. I also enjoy watching women's NCAA basketball. I am currently counting down the days until the next Olympics.

I am married to a Denton High School History teacher and have a 9-year-old son, a rescue dog , and three cats. I love to read, watch movies, and spend time with my family. Did I mention that I love to read?
