Jade Skidmore

I am so excited to be a part of Ryan High School. This will be my tenth year as a counselor. 

I received my Bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a Master's in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. Currently I am working on a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at University of North Texas.

I have taught at the elementary and secondary levels and have been a counselor for all grades from Kindergarten to the 12th grade. I started my career as an English teacher in Bangkok, Thailand and then spent several years teaching technology and family and consumer science classes before becoming a school counselor. 

I am originally from Gonzales, a small town the heart of Texas, known as the birthplace of Texas independence. I just recently moved to Denton from San Antonio with my husband. We have a dog named Emmi and a cat named Sophia that we love very much.

• Favorite Snacks: Anything sweet

• Favorite Drinks: Iced Chai Lattes, Coffee, Diet Coke

• Favorite Local Restaurant: I am still looking for one. One of my favorite things to do is try new places.

• Favorite Fast Food: Whataburger, Panda Express, & Raising Cane's

• Hobbies: Baking, crafting and creating, traveling, playing board games.
