Registration

Registered Student Organization Status

  • Registering your student organization with the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement (CSLE) at Clemson University allows your organization to access many benefits. Student organizations are required to update their registration annually through TigerQuest during spring registration.

  • Want to register a new student organization? We're excited to help you bring your organization to campus! Participating in a pre-registration consultation with the CSLE is required before you submit your registration in TigerQuest. This consultation will help you understand your benefits, connect your organization to resources, and help your organization start form a strong foundation.

  • Once your organization is registered, you have access to all CSLE resources. Request a consultation with the CSLE for almost anything! For example, you could...

      • Find service opportunities for your student organization members

      • Partner with the Barnes Center & U-NITES to host a late-night event with a Cub or Tiger Grant

      • Ask for help with officer transitions or member engagement

      • Brainstorm ways to make your org stand out at Tiger Prowl

      • Request trainings for your organization

TigerQuest

What is TigerQuest?

As part of the benefits of registered status, your student organization will receive an active page on TigerQuest, our online student engagement website.

  • Primary Contact - Emails from CSLE will always be sent to the primary contact to their @clemson.edu account. Updating your primary contact as your organization transitions leadership is crucial. CSLE is not responsible for messages sent to previous executive board members or students who have graduated. If you'd like assistance changing your primary contact, email CSLE@Clemson.edu.

  • Updated Roster - All changes to rosters, including updating positions, membership, and advisors must be reflected in TigerQuest within 48 hours.

  • @clemson.edu addresses - Request new members to your roster using their @clemson.edu address. TigerQuest accounts are linked to @clemson.edu emails, so using @g.clemson.edu, @gmail.com, or other emails will not send any emails and not allow new students to join your organization's TigerQuest page.

  • Re-register - Every spring during all-organization registration, the president must re-register your organization's TigerQuest page for it to remain active and for the student organization to continue to be registered with Clemson.

Using TigerQuest

TigerQuest has many features that will benefit your organization's recruitment & retention of members.

Set up the basics

  • Add a description that includes the mission of your student organization, common events, and even meeting times. Having a blank description may turn away potential members searching for involvement opportunities on TigerQuest.

  • Create events - either for recurring meetings or special one-time events, TigerQuest is the best way to invite and track attendance to your events.

  • Explore! You can also use TigerQuest to email and survey your members, host elections, create photo albums, and more. Using TigerQuest also allows future student organization leaders access to important past data.

TigerQuest Tutorial

Watch this TigerQuest tutorial see what TigerQuest looks like on the Management side for your student organization leaders. This tutorial also includes inviting new members, changing roles, adding custom roles, cohosting events, creating forms, and more.

TigerQuest Event Wall

Public events posted to TigerQuest will post both on the Event page of TigerQuest and to the Clemson calendar. You also have the option to create events private to your student organization. Check out the Event page for some great inspiration.

Events & Space Reservations

Campus Reservations & Events

Registered student organizations are eligible for reduced rates for reservable spaces at Clemson. Your organization can submit a reservation request with Campus Activities & Events.

Please note that currently, events with greater than 250 people in attendance must apply to the Special Events Review Board.

Check out the reduced rates for registered student organizations (the text used is recognized student organizations) for Campus Reservations & Events.

Student organizations also often request library study space for smaller officer meetings, planning for events, or events like mock interviews.

Reserve library space here.

Marketing & Social Media Shoutouts

We want to help you market & celebrate your organization! You have multiple ways of marketing your events:

Posting Flyers

Flyers must be approved before being posted on campus. Various buildings have different requirements for posting.

Student organizations can contact the Hub in Hendrix Student Center for more information on approval process for spaces reserved by Campus Reservations and Events and other campus spaces.

Graduate Student Government Newsletter

Graduate student organizations, if planning events that are open to the public, must advertise with GSG through the GSG newsletter, GSG social media platforms and GSG calendar. Email GSG to get on the newsletter!

Applying for and using Funding

Student Activity Fee

Students at Clemson contribute to the Student Activity Fee (SAF) each semester, and registered student organizations can request to use funds for organization purposes. The purpose of the Student Activity Fee is to enhance the value of the Clemson degree, shape unforgettable Clemson moments and unique experiences, remove financial barriers to getting involved, and promote the growth and independence of invaluable Clemson student organizations.

Where can our organization request funding from?

Request funding from the undergraduate Student Funding Board (SFB) if your organization is greater than 50% undergraduate students, and request funding from Graduate Student Government (GSG) if your organization is greater than 50% graduate students. If you can't tell your organization's majority immediately, you can send a survey to your members through TigerQuest or email CSLE@clemson.edu to request help.

Student organizations can also gain funding through fundraisers, donations, partnerships within the community, and dues.

Undergraduate Student Organizations

Requesting from the SFB

Undergraduate-majority organizations can request funds from the Student Funding Board. The first step to understanding the fund request process is reading the Student Funding Board Constitution & Funding Design.

Ensure you review the three funding pillars: campus reach, organization mission achievement, and financial management. All student organizations requesting funds will be asked to show how their requests align with these pillars, and these are also great ways to organize your thoughts when reviewing the growth of your student organization.

For more information, please visit our Funding Resource Page.

Annual Funding

Organizations can request a budget for the next academic year during all-organization registration. The deadline to request this funding is the final day of the Spring Registration process, and organizations will be notified in TigerQuest by the end of March.

Contingency Funding

Organizations can request contingency or emergency funding to address unforeseen events or new programs during the fiscal year. Please submit the form 45 days in advance of spending.

Graduate Student Organizations

Requesting from GSG

Graduate-majority organizations can request funds from Graduate Student Government. Review the Graduate Student Government guidelines for funding here. If your organization is registered with CSLE, has majority graduate students, but is not appearing on the GSG drop-down box, please email csle@clemson.edu to change your organization category to Graduate.

If this option was not selected when your organization registered, you will not receive marketing from GSG. Please also note that the funding request must be completed by a graduate student.
