Produced 4 editions of this multidisciplinary, hybrid (in-person and livestreamed) program spotlighting women artists in theater, music, dance, film, and visual arts on International Women’s Day. As Lead Producer of Golden Thread’s biennial festival of short plays from and about the Middle East, I accompanied each work from submission through development to performance. In 2023, we received over 100 submissions and selected six plays for production, featuring work by Yussef El Guindi, Arti Ishak, Adam Ashraf Elsayigh, Judith Strang-Waldau, and Hamed Sinno. The festival brought together more than 40 artists across disciplines and also served as a site of gathering through the MENA Theatre Makers Alliance annual convening, which welcomed over 100 artists, activists, and participants from across the United States.
