Teaching is central to my practice as a theatre artist, just as my artistic work continually informs my pedagogy; engaging with students from diverse majors challenges me to rethink core ideas, remain connected to contemporary discourse, and deepen my creative process.
At AUB, I taught undergraduate courses in Introduction to Theatre, Stage Acting, Stage Directing, Production Practicum, and designed and taught new courses including Documentary Theatre, and Female Playwrights from the Mediterranean, integrating practice-based learning with critical and social analysis.
At LAU, I taugh undergraduate courses in Theatre in Lebanon and the Arab World (special course at the Continuous Education Program), Creative Dramatics, and Tutorial in Play Production II.
Theatre offers a powerful space for students to develop essential soft skills that extend far beyond the classroom. In my teaching, I aim to equip students with tools they can carry into other disciplines and into their broader lives. Studying theatre cultivates individuals who are more culturally aware, compassionate, open-minded, confident, curious, imaginative and observant.
My Introduction to Theatre students, coming from a range of different academic majors, were inspired to take their final presentations a step further, proof that passion is contagious.
With my students at the Epidaurus Theatre in Athens, experiencing what we studied about on ancient Greek theatre firsthand, alongside our trip to present No Demand No Supply at the Between the Seas Festival in 2017.
With my students at TheaterLab in NYC, presenting No Demand No Supply at Between the Seas 2019, New York City’s only international Mediterranean performing arts festival.
