Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education

This flexible professional development series equips educators to understand and integrate artificial intelligence in thoughtful, practical ways. Day 1 explores the current state of Artificial Intelligence (AI), ethical considerations, and how curriculum may need to evolve. Day 2 focuses on using AI tools to support teaching and differentiation, while Day 3 empowers educators to guide students in responsible AI use and creative applications. All sessions will include time to explore AI and plan lessons. Participants may attend one, two, or all three sessions — no prior attendance is needed to participate fully in any individual day.

Day 1: Relevance of AI in Education (Friday, October 24, 2025, 8:30-3:00) 

Classified Staff who work in classrooms are welcome to join this session!

• • Understand the current state and capabilities of AI.
    
    

  • Learn how for address responsible AI use with students including cheating, privacy concerns, and bias.
    
    

  • Workshop to Work time: Create a lesson to engage students in a conversation about the use of AI.
    
    

Day 2: AI Tools for Teachers (Wednesday, February 11, 2026, 8:30-3:00)

• • Examine powerful AI tools like MagicSchool, NotebookLM, Brisk, and more.
    
    

  • Learn how to use AI as an assistant, thought partner, and tool for differentiation.
    
    

  • Workshop to Work time: Create or enhance a lesson or unit using one or more AI tools.
    
    

Day 3: Teaching Students to Use AI Responsibly for Learning (Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 8:30-3:00)

• • Learn prompt engineering basics, including ethical and unethical use of AI.
    
    

  • Use AI creatively for deepen learning — like chatting with historical or literary figures via Character.ai or using Khanmigo or SchoolAI as a tutor.
    
    

  • Workshop to Work time: Create or enhance a lesson or unit on teaching students how to use an AI-powered tool.
