Unit Progress Reports

University-Wide Progress Reports Information

Math Success Center

The Math Success Center and the Department of Mathematics work with the Academic Success Center to identify early performance concerns in our critical gateway courses in mathematics. Math faculty for MTH 109, 112, 115, 121, and 122 will receive requests to submit Progress Reports beginning the third Monday of classes during each regular semester. Feedback will be due by 11:59pm on the fifth Wednesday of classes ( 9 days after receiving the request).

Students with reported performance concerns will be provided with information about tutoring, academic coaching, and other support offered by the Academic Success Center. Advisors and College Success Leads for students flagged at-risk through this process will also automatically be notified of the concern and may conduct their own personalized outreach, though this is not required.

Athletics

Staff in University Athletics will request Progress Reports on select student-athletes around the fourth and tenth weeks of the semester. All faculty who have any of these students in their classes will receive a request to submit concerns on any of those students enrolled across all of their courses in that term.

Students with reported performance concerns will be contact by their assigned Academic Coordinator(s) in Athletics to addres the concern. Advisors and College Success Leads for students flagged at-risk through this process will also automatically be notified of the concern and may conduct their own personalized outreach, though this is not required.

Chemistry

Faculty teaching CHM 110 are sent a Progress Report request during the first exam — near the end of the third week of classes — to report concerns for students after computing grades earned on the exam. Students with a D or F on the first exam are strongly encouraged to move to a late-start section of CHM 104.

Students' CHM 110 instructor will encourage them to consider their options. Advisors and College Success Leads for students flagged at-risk through this process will also automatically be notified of the concern. Given the significantly better outcomes for students who are encouraged to and do switch to CHM 104, advisors or College Succes Leads should also reach out to students to encourage this option.
