This year's book fair was a success! We had many grandparents and family members attend during Grandparent's Day and Family Night.
We surpassed our goal for books sold by more than 100. That means we will be seeing our very own administrators performing on stage.
Finally, the "All for Books" contest was won by the girls this year. Get ready for that extra recess time with a bounce house ladies!
Mrs. Thomas's homeroom will enjoy a movie and popcorn soon.

At the start of the school year sixth grade completed a curriculum provided by the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB). The curriculum covered topics such as fossil fuels, petroleum, pump jacks, oil derricks, rocks, and well-site safety.
To further their understanding of these topics, OERB provided an opportunity to attend the Oklahoma Aquarium Museum.
The Pie Auction money went to the students for $50 dollar gifts this year!! Woo-hoo! Some of the money is used for our Penguin Patch (2nd time ever!!) -Hannah G.

November 5, 2024 was a historic day for our country. Every four years eligible United States Citizens have an opportunity for their voice to be heard at the polls. This year the race for president was ugly at times, but so important.
Frink-Chambers middle school students, grades 6-8, and staff also got a chance to cast their vote for president. The choices included Libertarians Chase Oliver and Mike Ter Maat, Republicans Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance, Democrats Kamal D. Harris and Tim Walz, and Independents Robert F. Kennedy and Nicole Shanahan. Ninety-two students and eight adults voted for a total of 100 votes. Ninety-six percent of Frink-Chambers middle school showed up to vote! The results are as follows:
Oliver/Matt----------------------0 votes= 0%
Kennedy/Shanahan----------2 votes=2%
Harris/Walz---------------------12 votes = 12%
Trump/Vance-------------------84 votes = 84%
Invalid (2 were marked)----2 votes = 2%
Trump wins Frink-Chambers!

This year's 6th graders celebrated Halloween for breakfast because they will be running the events and games during the Fall Carnival on Friday. They enjoyed breakfast burritos, fruit, meats and cheeses, cookies, cupcakes, and Mrs. Thomas's special witch's brew!
Shout-out to 6th grade parents for all of the food and snacks! You guys really came through for us.

The girls left on 10/8/24 to visit the ropes course in Salisaw. We participated in several team-building exercises and climbed then jumped the Leap of Faith.

We first learned how to spot someone as they climbed, and then exercised this. Then, we did a teamwork exercise in which we blindfolded our partners and directed them to a foam ball and then threw it at other teams. After, we started on lower elements (the mechanisms we climbed on). Then, we broke for lunch. Then, we were allowed to start on higher elements. Some of the higher elements included a tall pole with essentially a ladder on it, which was called The Leap of Faith, and once you got to the top of the pole you either had the options of standing up and jumping to the trapeze bar or you could sit down at the top. Once you made your decision, you had only one more choice: jump. The leaders of the coarse had you only on a small rope and they would let you fall about ten feet before she caught you. It all would happen so fast that you thought you were going to fall and then all of the sudden you got jerked up into the air!

McAlester Theatre recently held auditions for this winter's musical, Elf Jr. And if that isn't exciting enough, half of the cast are either current or former Frink-Chambers students. They include: Blake Byrum, Brynli Villar, Jace Timmons, Allie Dinwiddie, William Milligan, Kaden Kay, Caroline Calaway, Parker Case, Arya Doyle, Makenna Belvin, and Tamae Briggs. I think we all know who to blame for fostering a love of music and theater: a certain music teacher. The one, the only: Miss Russell!
Congratulations to all who auditioned and those who were cast. Performance dates will be announced soon!
