Dear FHS,
It has been an eventful few years, marked by numerous articles, videos, and Instagram posts. Even though this club has put us through late nights and research that spans too many tabs, it was an amazing decision. A club we both joined as freshmen, knowing nothing and no one, became an activity we looked forward to. A club that taught us lessons beyond crediting images and citing sources. We learned that an interview is about those pauses in the conversation that lead to a story, that stepping outside of your comfort zone is necessary for success, and that even though it’s not always noticed, hard work does lead to impact.
We are grateful to have been editors for two years at FHS. Franklin is an amazing school, and our articles would never be possible if not for the exceptional students, staff, and community of FHS. We know that whoever takes over Pantherbook will have an abundance of topics and incredible FHS students to produce media about in the future.
Through our four years, we have seen the shift in desired media and how it can change very quickly. We are excited to see how an app shifts attention to our site and hope that people will find what they want there. Whatever way it happens, we hope that FHS students continue to use their voices with pride and remember that anyone can have an impact.
To Mr. Leighton, thank you for always believing in us and supporting our ideas. We will miss this amazing club and community, but we know it will thrive.
Thank you and goodbye, FHS.
