This past Monday was inauguration day, but what actually is Inauguration day, and what changes happen?
“The inauguration is when the president-elect and vice president-elect are officially sworn in as president and vice president at noon on
January 20th. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court will give them the oath of office. Following the swearing-in ceremony, the president will give a speech called the inaugural address. This speech will usually contain details on the new president’s vision and what we will attempt to achieve” said Andrew Hidden, an officer of Politics club.
In this case, the President-elect and Vice President-elect were Donald J., Trump, and J.D. Vance. They are now president and vice president, respectively.

“Since 1937, inauguration day is always at the same time unless it is on a Sunday, then it will be held in private and public on the 21st.“ replied Aubrey Stott, another officer of Politics club.
However, one notable difference between this inauguration and most past inaugurations was this inauguration was held indoors due to freezing temperatures outside. The rest of the inauguration day proceeded normally, with performances, balls, a luncheon, and an indoor parade following the president's inaugural address.

President Trump also signed a record number of executive orders on his first day, with 42 orders being signed and 115 personal actions added. He also rescinded all of former president Biden's executive actions and orders. The topics covered included the border, renaming geographic locations, and a variety of other subjects.
One of these orders has been challenged by states and courts, and others will take time to be put into effect, so no one knows the consequences or benefits of these orders, but this inauguration was certainly a memorable one.
