FOXHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL - AUTUMN 1 2026
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to our first newsletter of this academic year!
It has been especially lovely to welcome our new children and families into the Foxhill community. You have already added so much to our thriving school, it has been wonderful to see families coming together at our achievement assemblies and PTA events. Thank you for your warmth, enthusiasm and support—they make such a difference to school life.
It has been a busy and productive half term, filled with exciting learning across our curriculum, achievements to celebrate, sporting events, trips and the wonderful play opportunities that make Foxhill such a special place. We rounded it all off with our Halloween dress-up day and morning coffee rave — a joyful way to finish a half term full of discovery and adventure!
I am incredibly proud of our children: their curiosity, kindness, determination and enthusiasm shine through in so many ways each day. Watching them grow in confidence, support one another and take pride in their achievements is a real privilege. It is an absolute joy to lead such a happy school, alongside a dedicated team and such supportive families.
Thank you for everything you have contributed to this fabulous start to the year. I wish you all a happy and joyful half-term break and a happy halloween!
Warmest wishes,
Mrs Thomason
Every school day at Foxhill brings opportunities to learn, play, build friendships and celebrate achievements. Thank you for helping your children make the most of these opportunities throughout our first half term.
A special well done to Year 4 for the highest attendance this half term!
Being in school every day, on time, whenever children are well enough to attend, helps them keep up with learning and feel part of everything happening in their class. Arriving on time also gives children a calm, settled start, with time to greet their friends and get ready for the day.
We know mornings can be busy and that families sometimes face challenges. If getting to school regularly or on time is proving difficult, please speak to us—we’re here to listen and help. Thank you for working with us to give every child a happy, positive start to their school day.
As we come to the end of a very busy yet exciting half-term, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the way everyone has transitioned into their new year groups. I know some were a little worried about it; but just look at you now!
My primary role as Pastoral Lead is to ensure that every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn. We know that children thrive academically when they feel happy and secure emotionally.
I pay great importance of feeling safe, happy and valued. I want every child to know that they belong, that their voice matters and that there are trusted adults ready to listen whenever they need support. It has been lovely to see so many examples of kindness, resilience and friendship across the school, from children helping one another in the playground to showing determination when faced with a challenge in the classroom.
We continue to encourage our children to develop positive relationships, use kind words and celebrate the differences that make each of us unique. These everyday moments help to build a caring and inclusive school community where everyone can thrive.
As parents and carers, your partnership is invaluable and I want to personally thank you for your continued support. By working together, we can ensure that every child feels supported both in school and at home. Please remember that if you have any concerns about your child's wellbeing, friendships or emotional development, we are always here to listen and help. You can even use our Parent Referral Form:

A brand-new school year means a brand-new Eco Team! We are delighted to introduce our new Eco Committee: Aria, Oscar, Amber and Caspian!
They have already thrown themselves into their new roles with great enthusiasm, helping to ensure that everyone across school is doing their bit by recycling responsibly. As the year progresses, our Eco Team will be taking part in even more exciting activities and initiatives to promote sustainability and help make our school a greener place.
We can't wait to see the positive difference they make! 🌿
As a school, we are excited to be continuing with our WOW Travel Tracker scheme, encouraging pupils to make active and environmentally friendly journeys to school. Children can earn special badges by walking, wheeling, scooting or taking part in our park and stride.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we finished September in 1st place across the whole of Bradford! Even better, we are currently on track to claim the top spot for a second month! Our success doesn't stop there – we also finished an impressive 77th out of 1,265 schools across the UK!
A huge thank you to all our pupils, parents and carers for your continued enthusiasm and support. Every active journey makes a difference, and together we are helping to create a healthier, greener school community.
Let's keep up the fantastic work and stay at the top!
We are proud to introduce Foxhill's Pupil Parliament!
The Foxhill Pupil Parliament members (Year 1 - 6) were elected for by their peers in class after hearing their ideas for improving our school. The Pupil Parliment is designed to give our children a voice and have their say about their school. They will meet regularly with Mrs Fletcher to discuss their ideas, helping to run event, raise money, support their peers, feedback to their classes, along with many more things.
What is a Pupil Parliament?
Our Pupil Parliament is a group of students elected by their fellow pupils to represent their opinions and raise issues and suggestions in the school. Our Pupil Parliament will also progress projects on behalf of the pupils, and be involved in activities such as supporting events, raising money, feeding back to classes, etc.
To be effective, our Pupil Parliament must:
Represent all pupils across each key stage
Take time to listen to all pupils and communicate their views
Feed back to pupils on any developments
Make things happen – or explain why they can’t!
