In Spring of 2023, Highlands Middle School students took the YouScience Career Interest and Aptitude survey to begin helping them track individual career matches over time.
The summary report shows a breakdown of students' top three Career Clusters where demonstrated an aptitude and interest for that particular cluster.
This kind of information for students can help them make choices in topics they would like to explore more through coursework.

During the 2022-2023 School Year, Highlands High School students took the YouScience to help them identify best-fit academic programs based on interest and aptitude questions.
The report shows the number of students with a particular career cluster in their top three for interest and aptitude.

54.7% of 1-8th grade showed “High” growth on the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) in reading during the 2022-23 school year.
An SGP compares a student’s growth to that of his or her academic peers nationwide, so a student who earns a 50 SGP has demonstrated more growth than 50 percent of their peers.
Students were tested during windows in the Fall, Winter and Spring.

The highest scores on the ACT reported for 11th and 12th graders who took the ACT in 2021-2022 school year and 2022-2023 school year were compared.
The average composite score increased by 2 points between the years with 77.18% of students demonstrating an increase in their score between the two school years.
On average, students gained 3 points on their ACT composite.
Longitudinal data from the yearly Resiliency Poll, administered in the Fall, demonstrates that students are beginning to recover pre-pandemic levels of Hope on a scale of 1-6.
The higher scores equate to a higher level of goal-directed behavior and motivation on that specific scale.

On a scale of 1-5 middle and high school students average on the Resiliency Poll Grit scale. The higher the goal the more tenacity students display to reach the goal.
