For meal purchases, please make sure your child has adequate funds available in MyPaymentsPlus for the last month of school. They can also bring in cash or a check to cover their meal purchase. Starting Monday, May 6 through the end of the school year, students without adequate funds will receive a courtesy snack.

5/21 - Kona Ice during connections
7th Grade ELA has our final summative project due in Canvas Friday, 5/17. This project consisted of students completing three standards-based projects of their choice related to our recent “The Outsiders” novel study.
Permission slips to view “The Outsiders” movie are due to ELA teachers by Friday, 5/17. Next week, we will be showing the movie in class to further analyze and compare how elements of a narrative are shown in different types of media. Students will compare and contrast the written text to the movie version and analyze effects of the techniques unique to each medium.

7th Grade Math is finishing up 7th grade with Pythagorean Theorem, and Equations/Expressions. We are so proud of all that our students have learned this year. We wish them a great summer! We look forward to their continued math success in the 8th grade!

7th Grade science is excited to finish this year with your student! Our final exam is on Friday, May 17th. We will be conducting our frog dissection on Wednesday, May 22nd. Please make sure your student comes to school “lab ready”!

7th Grade Social Studies is wrapping up the school year with our Asia unit and our final exam on Monday, May 20th. After final exams students will be finishing up the year with some fun review activities!
7th grade enrichment will be working on the following:
We will be wrapping up our podcast The Last Dog.
Students will be turning in their Listening Guide packet and any other podcast activities completed.
Students will be reviewing complex and compound-complex sentences in our Racing Through Sentence Types unit.
Healthcare Science:
6th grade will be learning about teamwork and communication.
7th Grade will be exploring Strawberry DNA extraction and teambuilding.
8th Grade is completing a teamwork and communication competition.

PE:
It is the time of year when the students clean out their lockers. All students who are in pe this quarter will take home their belongings on Friday, May 17. Students will have pe the last week of school. Students will be required to wear athletic shoes in order to participate in pe activities the last week of school.
I have loved getting to know the 7th graders this year. It has been a pleasure to watch them grow and figure things out. Thank you for sharing them with me! As we head into the summer, I think it is important to establish summer expectations to keep them active and safe. This is also a wonderful opportunity for them to recharge for 8th grade! Please see some suggestions below:
I wish all our families a wonderful summer break! I look forward to seeing them back in the hallways when school resumes in August.
