The Common Core Standards require us to teach three text types: informative/explanatory, narrative and arguments. As important as those are, however, we believe the best writing resides inside of each student, just waiting to breathe, and so we encourage all forms of writing: blogging, microwriting, poetry, response to reading...using all sorts of digital tools...Edublog, Google Slides, Book Creator.
Just as we do for reading, students are guided by a set of Writing Stances:
