To those educators advocating "personalized learning."

Make sure you understand that term has been co-opted to mean the delivery of content via algorithms and tech based on student needs. If you're talking about student passion and agency, that's "personal learning."

~Will Richardson

If we understand that children think and learn differently than we do, we must also suppose that we cannot impart our knowledge, skills, or processes on them. Instead, we need to access their voices and invite them to make their learning visible, in order to teach them. Our vision must be informed by what we learn from the children we serve rather than the experts who theorize about them, and if our students are the ones who are most directly affected by our vision, they must play a significant role in creating it if they’re ever to achieve it.
