STUDIO
[stoo-dee-oh] noun - the workroom or atelier of an artist, as a painter or sculptor.
On the artist's studio:
The artist is focused, intrinsically motivated to create--perhaps evenoutwardly passionate in his process. If there are several artists sharing a space, a certain energy is generated, and they perfect their craft by observing one another, offering constructive feedback, sometimes collaborating and other times simply working synchronously in the same physical sphere.

"I transformed my classroom into a workshop, a place where apprentices hone a craft under the tutelage of a master. I learned that being the best reader and writer in the room is not about power and control. Instead, I must be a source of knowledge that my students access while learning how to read and write. Instead of standing on stage each day, dispensing knowledge to my young charges, I should guide them as they approach their own understandings."
