Letters of Recommendation serve to complement your application by giving admissions reviewers insight from your teachers, coaches, advisors, employers, etc. Selecting the correct recommender and providing them with the information they need to complete a great recommendation can assist you in gaining admission to your dream school (though it's not a guarantee)!
Tips/Tricks for your Letters of Recommendation:
Think carefully about who you want to write your letter(s). They should be able to speak to you personally, and ideally you're selecting at least one teacher who can speak to your ability to succeed academically in college!
The number of letters required/allowed by colleges vary! Some colleges let you submit one (or none) as an option, while others may require 3 or more!
Be sure to speak directly with the individuals who you would like to write your letters of recommendation. Be sure to ask them if they are willing to do so!
Give your recommenders plenty of time to complete your letter - at least 2-3 weeks before the deadline.
Provide your recommenders with information about you! A resume or a brag sheet will help them in customizing a letter that is personalized to you.
