Timeline for Implementation (Updated: August 2026)

• Full digital implementation is now in effect for all PATs and DIPS for the 2026/2027 school year. 

  • • Grade 12 students will complete all Diploma Examinations using Vretta. 

    • Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) for Grades 6 and 9 are also administered through Vretta. 

    • Paper versions of exams are no longer the standard format for PATs and DIPs. Paper exams may be provided when approved as an accomodation in accordance with Alberta Education and Childcare requirements.

Field Testing 

• All field testing is exclusively available on the Vretta Digital assessment platform. 

• Teachers  may sign up for a field test on the platform after receiving permission from their principal. 

• Please see the How to Schedule A Field Test document for more information on participating in 2026-2027 field testing.
