Timeline for Implementation (Updated: February, 2026)

• All Part A Diploma Exams in Grade 12 and Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) for Grades 6 and 9 are fully implemented on the Vretta digital assessment platform for the 2025/2026 school year. 

  • • January 2026 Diploma Examinations were cancelled by Alberta Education due to the teacher's strike. 

    • May/June 2026 PAT and Diploma Examinations are planned to proceed as scheduled. 

  • All other Diploma exams (Part B components for ELA, French, Social Studies, Sciences, and Mathematics) are optionally available on Vretta for the 2025/2026 school year. 

• Full digital implementation of all Diploma and  Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) will occur in the 2026/2027 school year and beyond.

Field Testing 

• All field testing is exclusively available on the Vretta Digital assessment platform. 

• Teachers  may sign up for a field test on the platform after receiving permission from their principal. 

• Please see the How to Schedule A Field Test document for more information on participating in 2025-2026 field testing.
