7-12 Report Cards

Core Subjects

• All core subjects require both a percentage mark and a comment. 

Electives/CTS

• • All electives and CTS courses require a percentage mark. 

  • Comments are entered at the disgression of school administration. 

    • For CTS courses, comments are entered in the master class when required. 

At the secondary level, teachers must use division-approved assessment categories as outlined in the Secondary Gradebook Assessment Categories document (effective September 2025). 

Category structures vary by subject, grade level, and course type.

General Requirements: 

• Formative assessments must be recorded in the gradebook but do not contribute to the calcuated grade. 

  • Formative assessments may be: 

  • Placed in a dedicated Formative Assessment category (weighted at 0.0001), or

  • Included within other categories and weighted as zero at the assignment level. 

• Summative assessments may not exceed 60% of a category, where applicable. 

• Categories and weightings must follow the division-approved structure for each subject and grade level.
