Core Subjects
All core subjects require both a percentage mark and a comment.
Electives/CTS
All electives and CTS courses require a percentage mark.
Comments are entered at the disgression of school administration.
For CTS courses, comments are entered in the master class when required.
At the secondary level, teachers must use division-approved assessment categories as outlined in the Secondary Gradebook Assessment Categories document (effective September 2025).
Category structures vary by subject, grade level, and course type.
General Requirements:
Formative assessments must be recorded in the gradebook but do not contribute to the calcuated grade.
Formative assessments may be:
Placed in a dedicated Formative Assessment category (weighted at 0.0001), or
Included within other categories and weighted as zero at the assignment level.
Summative assessments may not exceed 60% of a category, where applicable.
Categories and weightings must follow the division-approved structure for each subject and grade level.
