Please consider the following prior to committing to an online meeting session (via Zoom or Google Meet):
Technology Costs to Consider
There are no costs for clients to use Zoom or Google Meet for a session.
However, clients are responsible for the costs of their phone/internet usage during these sessions and need to consider the impact of this on their phone/internet plans.
Setting Up the Appointment
If you wish to make an appointment, contact information can be found on the Contact page of this website.
First contact will usually involve a brief introduction and a session appointment arrangement.
Link Email: Following your first contact, your counsellor/life coach will send you a session/meeting email. This will provide:
The meeting name (usually "Session").
The date and time of the session (check the time zone as well).
The meeting link.
The meeting number and password (this may not be needed, but keep handy).
One or more repeating of the meeting number and password alongside phone numbers, if needed.
Test Link: You are free to click the session link at any time. It won't allow room access, but you can test your audio and camera functions and then close the link.
Preparation
You need to:
Decide on a place where you will be comfortable, safe, and private for your session, free from interruptions and distractions.
Be protective of your privacy during your sessions.
Choose a chair which will allow you to vary your posture.
Ensure that your device, whether phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop are up to date with virus and internet protection.
Have notepaper and a pen handy, with access to a hard surface for writing, if/when needed.
The Counsellor/Life Coach will ensure that they:
Are in a private room for your session.
Are up to date with virus and internet protection.
Will utilise additional security functions of modes, when available and appropriate.
Online Session Commencement
Pre-Session Commencement: A Waiting Room will activate 15 minutes prior to your appointment start time. This will allow you time to retest your audio and camera while you wait.
Starting the Session: Your counsellor/life coach will open the session and you will automatically move from the waiting room into the main room.
The session will then proceed. If you are new to using this online mode, your counsellor/life coach will assist you as the session occurs.
Session Conclusion: After winding up the session together, just click the exit button. Your counsellor/life coach will assist you if needed.
