Technology Costs to Consider

Before committing to this virtual world activity, please consider the costs to your phone/internet plans as well as the capacity of your device/s.

Free Use of Sparrow Mountain

A demonstration of virtual activities can be viewed on the Services dropdown menu page > Sparrow Mountain.

You are free to create an avatar and explore Sparrow Mountain as much as you wish, free of charge. It is available 24/7. Costs only occur if used during counselling/life coaching sessions or with paid course activities.

Getting Started

There are 7 steps to getting started in Sparrow Mountain:

Deciding on an avatar name.
Creating an avatar account.
Downloading the viewer software (to view and interact with the virtual world).
Logging onto the virtual world.
Finding Sparrow Mountain on the virtual map.
Teleporting to Sparrow Mountain.
Arriving in Sparrow Mountain and exploring.

Counselling/Life Coaching in Sparrow Mountain

The First Session

We would begin on Zoom for a demonstration. This involves the "getting started" steps, logging into the virtual world, and a tour of the Orientation Oasis area on Sparrow Mountain. This would assist your participation decision and you could then set-up after the session, if you decide to use this mode. You would also be welcome to enter as an avatar during this first session, if you are already set-up.

For your first visit to Sparrow Mountain as an avatar, we could use phone or Zoom audio to remain connected while we log into Sparrow Mountain and explore.

Communication Privacy

We will explore these options during the demonstration and orientation. There are several ways in which we can communicate while in the virtual world:

Virtual Software functions:
1. - Typed Chat (public or private message)
  - Voice (public or private call)
Using mobile phone to chat while in the virtual world.
Using Zoom audio to chat while in the virtual world.

We will discuss these options when relevant.
