In general terms, the objectives of the PPG in Physics at UFMT align with those of other Physics Programs in Brazil and worldwide, namely:
To train master's and doctoral graduates who can significantly contribute to the country's scientific and technological development;
To produce pure and applied scientific knowledge, as well as new technologies (e.g., articles, patents, etc.) in line with societal issues and challenges;
To foster the qualified transfer of knowledge;
To establish collaborations with programs at the national and international levels;
To attract new talent to pure and applied research;
To prepare human resources capable of directly contributing to the development of the state of Mato Grosso and neighboring states, either through the development of patents and technologies tailored to the specific needs of our region or by providing highly qualified professors who will work in various universities and research institutes in the region;
To integrate the Federal University of Mato Grosso into the national and international scientific landscape.
