The resource program is designed to help students with organizational skills, as well as to assist with
regular education curriculum. Students are responsible for logging their daily assignments and
securing teachers signatures. Resource allows for students to receive individual assistance and to meet
the needs listed on the student’s Individual Education Plan.

A year long course designed specifically for Special Education students who are significantly below
grade level in reading. This course would provide students with specific instruction in the areas of:
Phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary instruction, and comprehension instruction.

Course Code: 1st Semester - 00185 2nd Semester - 00186 Grade Levels: 9, 10, 11, 12
This course designed for Special Education students who read significantly below grade level.
Students enrolled in this course should be reading between the 5th and 7th grade reading level, or have
taken Corrective Reading 1. This course will continue instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics,
fluency, vocabulary instruction, and comprehension instruction. At this point in their development,
students should have a firm foundation in their phonemic awareness and phonics skills, so the course
will be more focused on fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary instruction.
