How to be Successful at FCECHS
1. Be in school every day.
When you miss school, you miss lectures, notes, class discussions, group activities, homework assignments, quizzes and tests.
2. Take responsibility for your work.
If you are absent, remember that you are responsible for finding out what you missed and for making up work within the specified amount of time.
3. Be organized!
Have a separate notebook or folder for each class.
4. Create a study plan.
Manage your time by creating a study plan that works for you. Break large assignments into smaller parts. Two to three hours of studying is required every night.
5. Be prepared.
Always come to class with the materials you need. Be there on time and focused on learning.
6. Be positive about what you can do.
Expect great things from yourself and your peers. Your attitude plays an important role in your education. If you believe you can succeed, you can!
7. Take ownership of your education.
Make your work relevant to you. Take personal responsibility for your learning by setting goals, evaluating your progress toward those goals, and adhere to high standards that you and others set for yourself.
8. Communicate with your teachers.
This means talking, listening, and participating in class. If you have questions, you need to find a way to ask, whether it is during class, before or after class, or by email.
9. Be respectful and open to differences.
Many students act and believe differently from you. Keep an open mind when learning about different cultures, traditions, and lifestyles.
10. Ask for help. Don't be afraid to ask for help. You have a school family that cares for you and will assist.
