All staff members are expected to swipe in to the building with their badge each day (including staff housed in portable classrooms). Failure to swipe in indicates an absence. All certificated staff and SEIAs must log absences using Frontline so that coverage can be arranged. Custodians, IA’s and secretaries need to email administrators, Kari Shipe and Cary Fletcher with absence information.
All forms must be submitted to Kari Shipe for principal approval. Entry into Frontline must be done prior to the absence occurring. If you know that you are going to be out beforehand, please submit your leave slip as soon as you know. If it is unexpected, please complete a leave slip as soon as you return to work. Personal leave requires advanced principal approval.
Personal leave cannot be used the day before or after a holiday or vacation, an in-service day, parent-teacher conferences, at the beginning of the school year, or during the last (2) days of the 10 month teacher work year, except when approved by an immediate supervisor. Please reference the restricted leave days for the current school year.
If you have a particular duty and you will not be in the building, please make arrangements for someone to cover your duty.
For safety reasons, staff members leaving the building at any time during the workday are required to sign-out on the Google Sheet. If you have a student in our building, you must also follow the procedures for signing them out as if you did not work here.
At times, it may be necessary to divide classes if substitute coverage cannot be obtained. Link your team plan for dividing classes here.
Support Staff: Create a daily schedule for your substitute. Provide important information regarding the school day, your classroom duties and any important information regarding procedures. This document should be available in your classroom/ desk for emergencies.
All substitute plans must include our TuES substitute resources. You will be given a yellow folder containing a master set of these resources. Current lesson plans should be supplied for the substitutes or coverage for any planned absence so that interruptions to the instructional program are held to a minimum. In the event of an emergency, Emergency Plans can be used. If you are unable to provide current plans and would like us to utilize your emergency plans, you must communicate this information to the front office. In the event that no plans are provided, we will automatically utilize the emergency plans. Ensure that you have at least one ‘buddy teacher’ to which you can send your plans electronically for them to print out for your substitute/ coverage. The front office and administration will not be responsible for printing and copying plans.
Certificated Staff Emergency Plans: Use this checklist and follow the instructions as indicated. *Please update periodically throughout the school year, especially if you have used them
