Proper maintenance and repair is a critical for creating a safe atmosphere and working environment.
It is important to maintain a repair log to document when repairs are done for each piece of equipment.
It is important to review the owner and operation manual for each piece of equipment to ensure proper operating and maintenance procedures.
Often the manuals can be found through a simple Google Search on sites such as this one.

Basic maintenance such as cleaning, inspections, replacing consumable parts (blades, sanding belts, etc.) falls under the responsibility of the teacher. Instructions for these tasks are typically covered in the user manuals
