ndhsca convention & membership

Membership
If a coach attends the state convention, the district will cover the cost of both the convention registration and the annual membership.

For coaches who do not attend the state convention, the district will reimburse $30 of the annual membership.  The coach is responsible for the remaining cost.

Travel Costs
The district will reimburse travel expenses (gas, lodging, food) for the state coaches convention, up to $250 per coach. Coaches shall keep receipts and submit these upon completion of the trip.

In State/Regional (Tri-State area) Coaching Clinics

Coaches are encouraged to attend these local professional development opportunities. 

Registration Costs will be covered by the District if funds are available. If District funds are not available, Program Fund 61 dollars may be an option (upon approval by building activity coordinator). 

Transportation costs will be considered at the discretion of the building activity coordinator. If District funds are not available, Program Fund 61 dollars may be an option (upon approval by building activity coordinator). If Fund 60 or Fund 61 dollars are being used, coaches should work with the building bookkeeper to set up a purchase order prior to the trip and submit receipts upon completion of the trip.

National coaching conventions

The district does not financially support national travel with district funds.

If a coach wishes to attend a national clinic, district funds may be used to cover the registration costs, if there are funds available. If District funds are not available, Program Fund 61 dollars may be an option (upon approval by building activity coordinator). If Fund 60 or Fund 61 dollars are being used, coaches should work with the building bookkeeper to set up a purchase order prior to the trip and submit receipts upon completion of the trip.

national coach of the year nominee & recipients

Coaches who are nominated for the National Coach of the Year award at the NHSCA Convention will be reimbursed up to $750 for travel expenses.

clinic attendance / professional development days

Each program will have two Co-Curricular PD days per year that can be used for clinic attendance. If additional days are required the individual(s) shall use personal leave days.

state tournament travel (head coaches)

Head coaches are allowed travel leave for a state tournament if their team did not qualify. Departure date and time will be decided upon by the building administration. Travel expenses the day of the state coaches meeting will be covered by the district. 

If leave time is required, this will be separate from the professional development days allotted for clinic attendance.
