When you are hired as a new Fargo Public Schools coach/advisor, you must report to Human Resources at the FPS District Office to complete required paperwork. Please set up an appointment with HR within a week of your hire date (see contact information below).
You will be asked to present appropriate identification to complete your employment eligibility verification form (I-9). Please click here for a list of acceptable documents.
You will also need to bring a voided check so we can enroll you in automatic payroll deposit. If you do not have a voided check, please contact your financial institution, and ask that they provide you with printed information that includes your name, full routing number and account number.
You will be directed to Advantage Credit Bureau (5050 47th St. S Fargo) for finger printing.

The NDHSAA requires ALL coaches in North Dakota to become certified by completing four required courses:
1) Fundamentals of Coaching
2) Concussion Education
Since concussion education is a North Dakota Law and needs to be complete before you coach, you will not receive your contract or payment until you have completed the course and sent me the certificate.
3) First Aid
4) CPR/AED
In addition to the requirements set by the NDHSAA in regard to the coaching permit, all FPS Co-Curricular Staff must complete the course "Protecting Students from Abuse" on the NFHS Learn website.
To complete the Fundamentals of Coaching, Protecting Students from Abuse, Concussion and First Aid courses, an account has been created for you on the National Federation (NFHS) website. You will receive an email from the FPS District Student Activities Office with login information.
The district activities office will be arranging group sessions for coaches to take CPR/AED. Please watch your email and check your spam for future announcements. If you have already taken a CPR/AED course elsewhere, please provide a copy of certification to Jenny Schultz in the district student activities office.

If you have completed a college course such as Principals of Coaching or Fundamentals of Coaching within the past five (5) years, please let Jenny Schultz know ASAP and DO NOT redeem the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Course online. Many college courses will crossover as credit towards your North Dakota Coaching Permit. If you have completed such a course please send a copy of your transcript as a certificate.
