Game Notes

The No. 5 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (11-1-2, 4-0-2 CC) travels to Dickinson (7-4-2, 1-3-2 CC) to tangle with the Red Devils on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The Diplomats then return to Tylus Field to host Gettysburg (4-6-2, 1-3-2 CC) on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Before the match against the Bullets, the F&M men's soccer program will honor their eight seniors playing in their final regular season home game. Those seniors include: Ian Kagan, Charlie Sears, Oscar Horwitz, Connor Anderko, Philip Monos, Ethan Senatore, Owen Sobel, and Nick Pine.

The Diplomats currently sit in second place in the CC Men's Soccer Standings behind Washington College. Dickinson is ranked seventh in the standings, while Gettysburg sits in eighth. 

Last Week

The Diplomats downed Johns Hopkins, 4-3 in last week's matchup. Oscar Horwitz shined on offense, scoring all four of F&M's goals to break the program's single-season goals record with now 18 scores this fall. Koa Kaliebe played a huge role in Horwitz' success as he assisted on all four goals. Horwitz is now the program record holder for most goals in a single season with 18 so far this fall. Horwitz also tied the program record for most goals in a single game, while Kaliebe tied the F&M record for most assists in a single match. Read the full recap here. 

Last Time vs. Dickinson

The Diplomats rolled over the Red Devils with a 2-1 victory over Dickinson last season. Once again, Horwitz scored the opening goal of the game. F&M added onto the lead in the 26th minute on a corner kick sent into the box by Shay Adamson '23. Horwitz headed the initial pass back into the middle of the box to find Jordan Samuels in front of the net. Samuels buried the header to score his first collegiate goal. Last Time vs. Gettysburg

Oscar Horwitz scored his fourth goal in as many games on a header in the 74th minute to tie Gettysburg at 1-1 in last season's matchup. Nathan Schlessinger had a team-high two shots on goal. F&M outshot the Bullets 13-11 in the match. It was the second 1-1 tie of the 2022 season for the Diplomats. Read the full recap here. 

Dickinson Team Preview

Dickinson looks to rebound after a 2-1 loss at Swarthmore on Saturday. Saul Iwowo leads the Red Devils in goals (seven), assists (four), and points (18) so far this season. Goalkeeper Alexander Henrich sports a 0.80 goals-against average and a save percentage of 73.3 percent.

Gettysburg Team Preview

Gettysburg is currently on a three-game losing streak and will look to get back into the win column with a road matchup at McDaniel on Wednesday. Chase Sempervive leads the Bullets in both goals (five) and points (10), while Athi Msiza leads Gettysburg in assists (four). Goalkeeper Kevin Muhic has a 1.92 goals-against average with a 64.1 save percentage this fall.
