Game Notes

The No. 9 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (5-0-1, 0-0-1 CC) gets set for two games this week. F&M travels to play a non-conference game against Kean (4-0-3) on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The Diplomats then return to Tylus Field to host Swarthmore (1-2-2, 0-0-1 CC) in a Centennial Conference (CC) matchup Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

Last Week

The Diplomats remain unbeaten after a 1-0-1 last week - earning a win over Penn State-Harrisburg, 4-2, and tying at Haverford, 1-1. In the win against the Lions, Koa Kaliebe and Philip Monos each tallied goals to put F&M up 2-1 through 73 minutes. PSU tied the match up at 2-2 in the 78th minute, but Oscar Horwitz buried two goals in the final 10 minutes to propel the Diplomats to victory. Read the full recap here. 

F&M battled Haverford to a 1-1 tie Saturday afternoon. Trailing 1-0 in the 84th minute, Oscar Horwitz headed a crossing pass from Philip Monos into the right side of the cage to tie the game. The Diplomats peppered the Haverford net with 31 total shots and seven shots on goal, but couldn't find the go-ahead score. Read the full recap here. 

Last Time vs. Kean

The Diplomats played Kean to a 1-1 draw during the 2022 season. After 45 minutes with no score, the Cougars struck first in the 61st minute of play. The Diplomats continued to attack the net and finally tied the game in the 89th minute. Shay Adamson '23 controlled the ball in the offensive area and lost his defender to send a crossing pass in front of the net that Horwitz met in the air to head it in for the equalizer. Last Time vs. Swarthmore

F&M held off Swarthmore, 1-0, in last season's meeting. Nathan Schlessinger headed a loose ball into the net during the 69th minute of the match to give the Diplomats the lead. Philip Monos had a team-high two shots on goal. Sam Farrell '23 made five saves in the win. F&M outshot Swarthmore 18-8 in the game. Read the full recap here. 

Kean Team Preview

Kean remains unbeaten going into Wednesday matchup with an overall record of 4-0-3. Sadeiki Roberts leads the Cougars in both goals (three) and points (seven), while Nico Ibanez holds the team-lead in assists with two. Goalkeeper Dominic Ridge boasts a 0.60 goals-against average and a save percentage of 75 percent with two shutouts this season.  

Swarthmore Team Preview

Before the Garnet travel to Lancaster to take on the Diplomats, Swarthmore plays Wilkes on the road on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Brandon Cramblit holds the team-lead for both goals (two) and points (four). Ethan Ernst, Joseph Eyiolowope, and Bless Tumushabe all have recorded an assist this season. Christian Bignotti currently has a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage 76.2 percent this fall.

Among the Best

Both the Franklin & Marshall men's and women's soccer programs are one of only eight programs that have both their men's and women's team ranked inside the top 25 of the national polls. Out of those eight programs, just four have both teams sporting undefeated records so far this season - including Franklin & Marshall. The F&M men's soccer team has an overall record of 5-0-1, while the women's team is 4-0-1.
