Game Notes

The No. 9 Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team (4-0) looks to remain undefeated as it plays its first road games of the season this week. F&M travels to play Penn State-Harrisburg (1-2-1) on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. before opening Centennial Conference play at Haverford (1-0-3) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Last Week

 F&M went 3-0 last week with wins over Lebanon Valley, Elizabethtown, and Rosemont. The Diplomats completed the comeback over LVC on Wednesday afternoon. Down 2-1, Koa Kaliebe tied the game on a shot in the 79th minute. With under three minutes left in regulation, Oscar Horwitz buried his second game-winning goal of the fall to propel F&M past Lebanon Valley, 3-2. Read the full recap here. 

In Saturday night's Battle of the Smith-Herr Boot, both teams battled throughout the contest. However, the Diplomats gained the edge on a goal from Michael Desmond in the 64th minute. The win marked F&M's fifth-consecutive win in the Battle for the Boot. Read the full recap here. 

Franklin & Marshall was dominant in Monday evening's 5-0 win over Rosemont. Oscar Horwitz tallied the first hat trick for F&M since 2016. Michael Desmond also recorded a goal in the win. Read the full recap here. 

Last Time vs. Penn State-Harrisburg

The Diplomats picked up a 2-1 win in a thriller against Penn State-Harrisburg last season. Koa Kaliebe sent a crossing pass that was headed into the back of the net by Oscar Horwitz to put F&M up 1-0 in the first half. PSU-Harrisburg responded with the equalizer off a penalty kick in the 85th minute of play. Off a free kick in the 89th minute, Shay Adamson '23 sent a pass into the box that was headed back out by a Lion defender. Adamson gathered the rebound and sent a bouncing shot through the crowded box and into the net to win the game for F&M. Read the full recap here. 

Last Time vs. Haverford

F&M secured a spot in the CC playoffs with a 1-0 victory over Haverford during the teams' 2022 matchup. Adam Green recorded the game-winning goal in the 57th minute of the match for his first score of the season. Nolan Booth made three saves in the contest. Read the full recap here. 

Penn State-Harrisburg Team Preview

The Lions are coming off a 1-0 loss to Lebanon Valley on Saturday. PSU-Harrisburg's win came against Wilkes last Wednesday, rolling to a 4-1 victory. Five different Lions have scored goals this season with Daniel Fombu and Jacob Tankersley leading the team in points with three each. Goalkeeper Shayon Kashi holds a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of 77.8 percent with one win in net this season.

Haverford Team Preview

Haverford has yet to be unbeaten this season with three ties and a 2-1 win coming against William Paterson. Before playing F&M, the Fords travel to play Arcadia on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Joey Carol, Alex Millones, and Andrew Peebles lead Haverford in goals with two each. Goalkeeper Dylan Ioffreda has a 2.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of 60 percent in four starts this season.
