This page will provide you with a collection of technology tools that you can utilize in your classroom to enhance student talk and academic discourse. First, you will learn about websites that encourage and facilitate the integration of collaborative dialogue between peers. Next, several Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are provided to assist in the creation of sentence stems to utilize within your classroom for bridging to vocabulary and comprehension, fluency checks, and more.

Websites for Academic Talk
Padlet is an interactive digital board where students can post to discussions and ask questions. Student responses can include text, media, and audio. Click the box to the left to access the video. Once the navigation bar appears, click the first icon (the square with an arrow). The video will open in a new window.

Google Docs is a G Suite product that is a collaborative word document. Within any document, students can co-create and provide comments to peers.

Google Slides is a G Suite product that is a collaborative presentation tool. Within any slideshow, students can co-create slides to present their understanding of a particular topic.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
For additional sentence stem examples, AI can be a useful tool for teachers to use in helping them create sentence stems. Below, you will find some AI tools that can assist with creating sentence stems for your classrooms.

MagicSchool has a feature called Sentence Starters. To generate your sentence stems, tell MagicSchool the grade level as well as the topic or standard you are covering. This resource is available for free, but with limitations on daily usage, or a paid version is also available.
ChatGPT can create sentence stems based on the information you provide. To generate your sentence stems, you must provide ChatGPT with detailed information on what you are covering. Similar to MagicSchool, ChatGPT has a free and paid version; however, the free version limits the amount of generations for images.
