The Children of Trauma and Resilience course introduces participants to a trauma-informed, resilience-focused mindset and teaches them about toxic stress and trauma, how to process those experiences, and how to foster and nurture resilience characteristics. It begins with a strong focus on resilience and explores how core values and beliefs direct how professionals and people work with children. Participants learn about the experience of trauma as one that impacts a person's body and development. There will be multiple opportunities for hands-on learning and discussion throughout the day.

Meet your speakers!
Katie Francis, Ed.S
My journey has always included working with children, and I love working with the toughest crowd. The work I feel most passionate about is providing opportunity and education for all that can help create true change. I have worked in education for the last 14 years and have made the shift to non-profit leadership to "follow my dreams". The hill that I will die on is doing what is best for children, regardless of what is comfortable for adults. I believe that all those that have the privilege of serving children must see them first as human beings and then can we see them as athletes, artists, or students.
