Based on your individual family development plan from your licensing worker, you may have provide proof of attendance. Please complete the evaluations following each session. You will receive certificates with the number of hours for your records.
NOTICE: As a foster parent, you can claim 10 hours for the whole conference even though the certificates you receive won’t add up to 10 hours total. You can claim an additional 3 if you attend the post-conference. It is your responsibility to keep track of hours.
Yes, there are professional CEUs available. There is no cost for these. Social workers can complete their evaluation to receive the certificate to submit for their licensure.
At the end of the session, you will be given a link to complete a quick evaluation to receive your certificate for that workshop. For a short period after the conference, you will find the evaluation links on the schedule page for the hub you attended.
For active, licensed foster parents through IDHW, you may qualify for this assistance.
Childcare assistance is not a reimbursement but a set amount to help aid in the foster parent's attendance. Childcare assistance information was collected at registration, but if something changes before the conference, you can update your information during the Friday & Saturday sessions. Check at the registration booth.
All children in your household, including non-foster children, are eligible for childcare assistance at a rate of $30* per child, up to 6 children, to aid in your participation in the conference. This will help towards payment of childcare of your choosing. There is no childcare at the conference.
*The $30 per child is for the Friday and Saturday combined, not each. If you only attend one day, you will receive that day's support.

Travel assistance is not a reimbursement but a set amount to help aid in the foster parent's attendance. Travel information was collected at registration. Families can receive a gas stipend by completing the form at the conference for $25 for travel over 40 miles one way and $50 for travel over 100 miles one way.

Hotel information was collected at registration. You will receive further communication via email closer to the conference dates. Due to back-to-back conference times, a block of hotel rooms will be available for foster parents to stay overnight if they must travel more than 50 miles one way.
Please note that foster parents must attend the conference to be eligible for hotel accommodations. We will use conference attendance records and workshop evaluations to check conference attendance. You may also be asked for a credit card to hold for incidentals for the room but not charged for the hotel stay.

This conference is a partnership between the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and the Family Resource & Training Center. It is free to all foster/kinship/adoptive families, social workers, and community partners.
