North & East Hub Pre-Conference Event:

Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Limited Seating!

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach caring citizens how to help adolescents (age 12-18) who are experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or are in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. 

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Class is 6 hours in-person, plus 2 hours of online pre-work*

Thursday 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM local time

West Hub Pre-Conference Event:

Children of Trauma and Resilience

The Children of Trauma and Resilience course introduces participants to a trauma-informed, resilience-focused mindset and teaches them about toxic stress and trauma, how to process those experiences, and how to foster and nurture resilience characteristics. It begins with a strong focus on resilience and explores how core values and beliefs direct how professionals and people work with children. Participants learn about the experience of trauma as one that impacts a person's body and development. There will be multiple opportunities for hands-on learning and discussion throughout the day.
