EVSU Gears Up for Quality Assurance: 7 Programs Submitted for AACCUP Accreditation Survey | April 21–25, 2025
In its continued pursuit of academic excellence and quality assurance, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) proudly submitted seven academic programs for the Accreditation Survey Visit of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), held from April 21 to 25, 2025.
The five-day accreditation survey marks another significant milestone in EVSU’s commitment to maintaining high standards of instruction, research, extension, and institutional sustainability. The programs under evaluation span various disciplines and are located in the Main and Ormoc campuses, showcasing the university’s holistic approach to academic development and regional relevance. Each program underwent thorough internal preparations, including documentation of performance indicators, faculty and student accomplishments, community extension initiatives, and research outputs.
Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, EVSU University President, expressed his appreciation for the unwavering dedication of faculty, staff, and students in meeting the rigorous standards of AACCUP. “This accreditation process is not merely a compliance requirement—it is a reflection of our collective desire to continually improve and offer transformative education to the people of Eastern Visayas and beyond.”
The AACCUP survey visit also provided an opportunity for reflection and collaborative planning, as academic units received constructive feedback from accreditors. These insights are expected to further refine the university's strategic direction and institutional initiatives.
As EVSU awaits the results of the accreditation, the university community remains confident and optimistic. More than just ratings, this endeavor reaffirms EVSU’s resolve to uphold quality and excellence in Philippine higher education.

EVSU Employees Participated in Training-Workshop on Corrective and Preventive Action Report (CPAR) Preparation | April 7–8, 2025
In line with its commitment to quality and continuous improvement, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) conducted a two-day training-workshop on the Preparation of Corrective and Preventive Action Reports (CPAR) on April 7–8, 2025, held at Hotel de Fides.
The activity was facilitated by Ms. Arlene E. Concio, a seasoned resource speaker in quality management systems, who provided practical strategies and tools for identifying nonconformities, conducting root cause analysis, and formulating effective corrective and preventive actions. The workshop also emphasized the importance of systematic documentation and follow-through to ensure long-term solutions.
"CPAR is not just about compliance—it’s about cultivating a mindset of ownership and proactive problem-solving across the organization," Ms. Concio remarked during her session.
This capacity-building initiative supports EVSU’s goal of fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and responsiveness in its academic and administrative operations.

Retooling Activity for Internal Quality Auditors on Audit Report Preparation | April 1-4, 2025
In its continuing commitment to quality and institutional excellence, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) conducted a Retooling Activity for Internal Quality Auditors on April 1–4, 2025. The session focused on enhancing the competencies of internal auditors in preparing clear, comprehensive, and standards-aligned audit reports.
The activity was facilitated by Ms. Arlene Concio, a seasoned quality management practitioner, who provided valuable insights, practical tools, and best practices in audit documentation and reporting. Through workshops and hands-on exercises, participants deepened their understanding of effective audit techniques and refined their skills in crafting audit findings that support informed decision-making and continual improvement.
This retooling initiative reflects EVSU’s strong belief that continuous improvement begins from within—by equipping its internal stakeholders with the right knowledge and skills to uphold the university’s quality assurance systems and processes.

Eastern Visayas State University Conducts Local Accreditation in Preparation for AACCUP Visit | March 24-28, 2025
To ensure readiness for the upcoming AACCUP Accreditation, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) successfully conducted a Local Accreditation activity last March 24–28, 2025, across its various academic departments. This internal evaluation served as a critical step in assessing the preparedness of the seven academic programs scheduled for the actual accreditation visit on April 21–25, 2025.
The five-day event was led by EVSU’s University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (UQAAC), in collaboration with program heads, faculty members, and administrative support personnel. It focused on thorough documentation review, compliance checks, and simulated validation activities aligned with the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) guidelines. The local accreditors provided in-depth feedback on each program’s performance across all areas including Instruction, Research, Extension, and Institutional Qualifications.

Faculty and staff demonstrated commendable commitment and collaboration throughout the process, underscoring EVSU’s dedication to continuous quality improvement in higher education.
The successful conduct of the local accreditation reflects the university’s firm commitment to academic excellence and institutional development. With the insights gained from this internal assessment, EVSU is poised to meet the requirements of the AACCUP accreditation and sustain its pursuit of delivering quality education to its stakeholders.

EVSU Participated in the 38th AACCUP National Conference and General Assembly , Marikina City | March 2-8, 2025
Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) actively participated in the 38th National Conference and General Assembly of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) held in Marikina City from March 2 to 8, 2025.
The annual event brought together quality assurance leaders, accreditation coordinators, and higher education stakeholders from across the country to discuss emerging trends, share best practices, and strengthen the culture of quality in Philippine higher education. With the theme centered on sustaining excellence through innovation and collaboration, the conference featured plenary talks, breakout sessions, and institutional dialogues aimed at enhancing the impact of accreditation in academic institutions.
EVSU’s participation in this significant gathering highlights the university’s unwavering commitment to academic quality and continuous improvement. By engaging in this national platform, EVSU reaffirmed its dedication to delivering excellent, accountable, and globally competitive education in alignment with national and international standards.
FEBRUARY 6
EVSU conducted an online orientation of the WHAT and HOW2 to prepare for Level II &III AACCUP Accreditation | February 6, 2025
The University Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center (UQAAC), under the leadership of its Director, Dr. Annabelle B. Pilapil, successfully conducted an online orientation on February 6, 2025, in preparation for the Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 accreditation processes. The orientation was attended by academic program representatives from both the Tacloban City and Ormoc City campuses.
Dr. Archer R. Armada served as the resource speaker and provided a comprehensive overview of the accreditation requirements, processes, and standards. The orientation aimed to guide participating programs in aligning with the criteria set by accrediting bodies and to ensure their readiness for the upcoming evaluations.
The following programs took part in the orientation: AB in English Language, Batsilyer ng Sining sa Pilipino, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (BSC), Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Technology (BSMT), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE), Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Technology (BSHRT), and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
