ABOUT
Philippine Quality Awards (PQA) is the Philippines’ premier award for quality and organizational excellence, encouraging both public and private institutions to achieve global standards in leadership, service delivery, and results. Established through Republic Act No. 9013 (signed in 2001), the PQA is administered by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the United States.

EVSU Participated in the PQA Application Development Course
Development Academy of the Philippines, Pasig City | July 22–26, 2024
To strengthen its commitment to quality and performance excellence, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) participated in the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Application Development Course conducted by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in Pasig City from July 22 to 26, 2024.
The five-day intensive course was designed to guide participating organizations in understanding the PQA framework and in developing their own PQA application documents, in line with the standards of the national quality award system. It included workshops, lectures, and practical sessions aimed at enhancing organizational capability in quality management and performance improvement.
EVSU was represented by Dr. Annabelle B. Pilapil, Engr. Roque Costiniano, Ms. Mary Grace H. Aruta, and Ms. Julie Ann L. Gadin, who actively engaged in the sessions and collaborative activities. Their participation marks an important step for the university as it continues to pursue institutional excellence and align its processes with the principles of the PQA.
By joining this course, EVSU affirmed its ongoing efforts to foster a culture of quality, efficiency, and innovation in public service and higher education.
