“Reality is a mere illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”

- Albert Einstein

When I’m looking at different landscapes, both natural and artificial, I am captivated by the effortless beauty as well as additional elements that appear in that decisive moment, such as lighting and the surrounding environment. In these moments, I envision the endless possibilities of what that landscape could look like in an alternate reality that is fantastical and very much different from our own. This photo series represents the reality in which these landscapes exist.

I have created this body of work over the past few months. The main elements in this series includes different scenes created with processing techniques such as false color and compositing which will give you a perspective of a landscape seen in a completely different light. One of my goals is to draw attention to aspects that are present in the image, such as dramatic light and shadow, I apply an overlay that helps add contrast to the already existing elements. This series was inspired by the perspective most people have of their surroundings. I feel that our landscapes are often overlooked and many people feel more at home in a familiar environment, I want to take this opportunity to showcase all the beauty and diversity within these different manufactured realities and the infinite possibilities of what could exist beyond our own.
