Mr. Ross's physics class competed in a class wide competition to build Trebuchets or Catapults to see who could launch a ball the farthest. The designs were extremely creative and well-built. The winning catapult used a spring system and the winning Trebuchet used a sledgehammer head as the counterweight. Mr. Ross was impressed and said, "we have some real budding engineers in this class." Winners of the catapult were Simon Starr and Thomas Giampa. Winners of the trebuchet were Charlotte Beintrexler and Grace Sheehan.

Ten EHS students took part in the DARE Role Model Lesson in January & February. Five Anne Hutch and Greenvale Alumni returned to their elementary school to participate in the 5th grader's final DARE lesson. Students sat on a Q & A panel and answered questions about the pressures of MS and HS. Additionally, each alumnus shared tips and tools about how they have navigated through the transition from elementary to middle school and finally how to become a successful HS student.
On February 1 our Rho Kappa Social Studies Honors Society held our Second Annual Wax Museum. This year we had 28 of our students who have dedicated themselves to researching a historical figure, and have committed to transforming themselves into the best possible representation of those influential individuals all to share their love and knowledge with their peers, students, and families of the Eastchester community. This was a family friendly interactive event where students could pick up a passport and as they interacted with our Historical Figures they learned fun facts and also got a signature with a tagline to remember them by. Donations collected from this event went to benefit the ECAP organization which also supports our community on a local level.
