Towle House

Towle House, A lumberman from Maine, Joshua W. Towle, built this house in 1875-77 from wood he milled in Buckeye. Peter Nye chiefly assisted in its construction and Victorian details. Towle married Adelia Wedertz (daughter of LE Wedertz.) Descendants eventually sold the house, but it was bought by another Wedertz line in order to keep it “in the family” as it remains today.

Towle was greatly instrumental in documenting that era through his glass plate photography.
