The 2025 DCS was held on October 8 at five Nebraska ESUs. Our participation consisted of 133 people from 20 districts representing 10 ESUs! Check out the map and highlight video below!

We invited teams of students and a teacher, counselor, librarian, or other adult to attend our annual symposium in person at one of five Nebraska ESUs. The day was filled with learning, collaborating, and creating a digital citizenship action to bring back to the districts. 

Our guest speaker this year was Kristen Mattson. Through her work with Digital Citizenship as a teacher, school librarian, presenter, author, and doctoral student, Kristen has developed a framework around 4 pillars: Digital Safety, Media and Information Literacy, Digital Well-being, and Social Responsibility.  You can find her curricular framework and read more about her work at Teach DigCit and Edvolve .

We also sponsor a Poster/Public Service Announcement contest for K-12 students each year. 2026 winners will be posted soon! We had a record number of entries this year at 237!
