Do you need to prepare to take your GED®? Do you need to improved your digital literacy skills too? Our GED® Prep classes are offered at no charge to adult learners who meet the eligible requirements who want to prepare for the Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency Test or their GED® Test.
Improve your basic skills in reading, language, and mathematics
Obtain a Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TXCHSE)
Obtain or retain employment or
Transition toward one of our integrated education and training (IET) programs, Helping U Build (U) Career Academy or enter into post-secondary education (Vernon College, NCTC, or MSU)
Call the Adult Education Center at 940-322-6928 to complete registration paperwork by phone or digitally with one of the Adult Education Center staff members. Registration paperwork includes enrollment form, education, career, and training plan, and an assessment testing appointment.
NOTE: If you're located in the Wichita County area, you will be requested to make an additional "Testing Appointment" to complete your baseline testing BEFORE you attend an HSE Roadmap. If you're located outside of Wichita County, you will complete your baseline testing at the HSE Pathways Orientation.
Attend an orientation session at your class site to learn more about our GED® Prep program.

Attend 40 or more instructional hours and miss no more than 3 absences in an 8-week session
After you have reached 40 instructional hours, take a progress test in reading, language, and math.
When you reach 12 direct hours in the classroom, you will be given access to an Approved Distance Learning Curriculum. Work in your Distance Learning Curriculum for 2-4 hours outside of class each week.
