Testing

Step 2:  Testing

A.  The GT Coordinator will notify by letter the parents of children nominated by a method other than parental nomination and will send them a parental permission form for testing and a Parent Survey Form.  The permission form must be returned before ANY testing can take place.

B.  The GT Coordinator will obtain Hawthorne Rating Scales form the student's classroom teachers.  The forms will be tallied and averaged.  

C.  The following data will be gathered by the GT Coordinator for each student recommended:

• TONI ( Test of Nonverbal Intelligences) test scores.

• STAAR scores from reading, math, writing ( if available) and science ( if available)

• Hawthorne Rating Scales: intellectual, creativity, specific academic aptitude, leadership and performing arts and motivation scale.

• Parent & Student Survey forms

• Writing or creativity product or portfolio
