November

Welcome to our November blog. We have been very busy this month, completing our aeronautics challenge to writing our own Remembrance Day poetry.

Numeracy and Maths

We have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes and 3D objects. As you can see from the pictures we have been learning lots of new vocabualry such as apex, bisect, pependicular lines and vertices.

Please look at the photos to see some examples of a few of the practical activities that we have completed.

Literacy and Art

We wrote poems for Remembrance day, thinking about the importance of remembering the people who gave their lives for our freedom. We then created pieces of art to represent this.

In P.E. we have had great fun learning the basic skills in Badmington and we now know the difference between a smash and a drop shot!

Aeronautics Challenge

Here are some of the examples of the activities we have completed this month: Designing and building an assault course for the quadcopter, researching jobs in aerospace and designing a new cover for the quadcopter.

This is an example of one of the assault courses we designed and built for the quadcopter.

We researched different jobs in the field of aeronautics and we were surprised to find so many!

Science

We were learning about the properties of different materials and how to separate them. We had fun filtering, using a sieve and a garden sieve.
