Literacy
We are taking on different roles when working on guided reading activities. Someone predicts, clarifies, summarises or questions within a group. The Big Boss organises the group and decides when the group shares what they have found out. The Big Boss is a very popular role!
I have really enjoyed doing the task mats and reading books. I particulary like skimming and scanning and my favourite book so far from the task mat is The Rat-Catcher of Hamelin. By Fahd
We changed prose into a play script after learning about the features of a play script. We had fun acting out our play scripts- some more successfully than others!
Numeracy
We have been enjoying learning all about data handling. We investigated the mean, mode, median and range of the heights of 6B. We also carried out our own surveys- asking different classes questions that we devised. We then analysed and drew our results. We shared these with the rest of the class before inputting the data into a spreadsheet.

Shelter Building
We had great fun building our own shelters in the playground.
There was a serious message too as we were imaging what it would be like to have to leave our homes at short notice due to war or a natural disaster.
This idea came from our class reader ' The boy at the Back of the Class' which we finished when we came back from the Spring break.
Science
We have been learning about food chains, food webs and how an ecosystem is finely balanced.
In science I have really enjoyed creating food chains by using my creativity

Taking inspirations from artists such as Monet and Turner.
Landscape Art
These landscape art paintings all have a feature that makes it POP! We have made it so it has a perspective look to it. Some of the class have did a pathway going from larger to smaller, and some have done a person looking into the distance and even more!
Overall I liked this art; like how we made it so the perspective matters the most and also how these were inspired by all kinds of different artists from all over the world. By Kaiyas
