December

Welcome to December's blog. We have had another few busy weeks with our P.6 party, an outing to the church and lots of learning. Here are some of the highlights we would like to share with you.

Literacy

World Cup fever took over Primary 6B during the month of December! We shared our home learning research about different world cup countries with our classmates, learnt about the history of the World Cup and wrote newspaper articles about the time Pickles, the dog, found the 1966 missing World Cup!

Maths and Numeracy

We have been learning all about different types of fractions and trying to solve problems applying the concepts we have learnt. We can find equivalent fractions and also simplify fractions to their lowest common term. We have also been finding fractions of quantities. Some of us now know the difference between improper and mixed numbers! Can you explain to someone at home?

Outing to the Church

At the church we learnt about the importance of being patient, took part in a fun guessing quiz and made different crafts. Not forgetting the delicious doughnut or cookie we ate!

P.6 party

All the children had great fun at our party last week. We played some different party games, danced and had snacks donated by the P.T.A. Thank you very much to them. All the children also took home a book which was donated by the school. Enjoy reading them!

Have a lovely holiday and enjoy spending time with your family. 😁
