Soar High Learning
We worked with a partner to express a feeling in the style of Wassily Kandinsky. We thought about what feeling we wanted to convey and the colours and shapes that would do this best. We worked with our parnter to draw out our piece and then painted it using block paints. We picked out details using fine line black pens and presented our work to the class.
Aila and Eve

“We did sadness. When we thought of this, we chose lots of swirls and a lot of different blues. We made finger prints to look like tears coming down.”

“We did feeling crazy! We chose lots of random colours and shapes. We chose little dots around everywhere because it looks like people running around everywhere.”
Ruby and Willow
“We chose happy. We did lots of circles and organic shapes and love hearts and flower shapes. We peach, pink and yellow and lilac. We wanted to use rainbow colours.

“Our emotion was sad. We felt sad was circles and big splotches. Sometimes when you’re sad you want to curl up and sometimes you want to let it all out so we chose small and big circles. We chose all different shades of blue because blue represents sadness.”
Ava and Lily
“Our emotion is bashful. Bashful means feeling shy and timid. We tried to use a lot of shapes and colours, but mostly organic shapes and dark colours. We used lots of small shapes because you might feel like you want to go and hide.”
Harper, Ben M and Arran
“Our emotion was silly! We did every colour, to express our feelings.”
Joe and Usef
“We chose angry as our emotion. We did lots of spikey bits, swirls and fire. We did loads of red oranges and yellow and some black. These are the colours that we think make angry.”
Rory and Xander
“My emotion was crazy. I started off with shocked but as we continued we felt our shapes and colours were random.
