Perfectly Persuasive!
Watch out parents! Primary 4.2 are coming home with some new skills in the art of persuasion...
Today we have been writing letters to a person of our choice to persuade them to let us do, have or change something. We are pretty good at identifying opposing opinions and changing your mind!
We really enjoyed sharing these with each other! :)
Goodbye Mr Stern!
We said goodbye to another Eaglesham legend - Mr Stern today. We made a life-size Mr Stern and presented it to the whole school during assembly. A special well done to Finn and Willow for presenting on behalf of Primary 4. We also sang this amazing sound called Count On Me by Bruno Mars. Not a dry eye in the school!
Today we went outside and used chalk drawings to help us understand directions. We learned how to make quarter turns and directed our partner in a clockwise and anticlockwise direction.
Marvellous Music
With Mrs Lyall, we have been listening to a suite of music by Camille Saint-Saens called Carnival of the Animals.
We have been thinking about the choice of instruments and the melody to try to identify the animal each piece of music represents.
Today we listened to a piece representing an elephant. The composer used a piano for the chords and a big double bass from the string family to make the deep sound of a large animal.
We worked in groups to identify the musical note lengths form the main melody.
We then played the rhythm with out drum sticks!
We are becoming confident at reading music!
Roarsome Mallows
As part pf our persuasive writing block we have been designing delicious chocolate bars and selling them to each other with our fabulous persuasive adjectives and bold, brightly designed wrappers. We've been so inspired that some of us have even become confectioners at home, whipping up some samples to share! This choclate bar was a delicious treat today. Thank you!
Well done to our Bonnyton house winners.
They had a great time playing outdoor games and even had a sneaky hot chocolate!
Who will win next time?
