As part of Health Week, we had the opportunity to try out four different sports!
We started with a rugby taster where we practised passing skills and played some short games to work on accuracy.
We also had a dance lesson where we got to explore different movements and even learn some 'hip-hop' dance moves!
On Wednesday, we had a handball session with Brandon. We learnt that handball has similar rules to football, except you use your hands!
Finally, on Friday we had our judo activity where we practised some different holds and movements that are required for the sport!
If you child is interested in any of the Try a Sport options, contact the school office and we can send over the details! 😃
Well done to all of the children in P3.2 who took part in this terms homework project. They were asked to ask a big question linked to our learning context all about Ancient Egypt and then to showcase your learning in some way! Some chose to make models, posters and even digital presentations! Miss R is so proud of you all! Take a look for yourselves!
Multi-Sports in the Sun! 🎾🏑🏉
We took full advantage of the beautiful weather this week and took our PE lesson outside. Today Miss R brought out a range of different resources for us to demonstrate our skills. We had rugby passing, tennis skills, even bean bag toss!
A and I were playing a game of 5 x table snakes and ladders. I got to go up a ladder! - L.
This week, we have been practising our 5 times table using a range of different games and activities.
We enjoy using familiar resources such as playing cards and UNO cards to help remember multiplication facts.
UNCRC Rights of the Child Poster Competition 🚸
Well done to some of the learners in my class who have submitted their ideas for a new UNCRC Shield. The girls worked in pairs to create the two different logos and we have sent them on to Mrs Anderson. Miss R is very proud!
LI: To recognise the difference between living and non-living things.
In Science, we have started our Term 4 topic of Plants and Living Things. We started this by discussing what makes something a living thing, and then took the opportunity to take our learning outside and looked for objects in our nature garden. We had to find 3 living things, and 3 non-living things.
A bug landed on the table! It is a living thing!
The fence is not a living thing as someone put it there and it is made of metal.
Flowers are living things as the need water to grow.
The grass is a living thing.
Dandelions spread their seeds in the wind.
MUGA in the sun! ☀️
We are LOVING this beautiful weather for some fun games and rebound games in the sun! We have been enjoying learning the rules of rounders and have been challenging ourselves to work well as a team!
After attending a course that linked LEGO bricks to coding challenging, Mrs Martin popped down to our class to showcase the new resources with us. Some individuals worked in small groups to create a build that was then coded to move in different ways! Have a look at what we created!
On Thursday the 1st of May we presented our class assembly to our families and some of our peers in P3 and 4.
We had a wonderful time preparing our assembly and Miss R was SO proud of our effort.
We showcased amazing ambition and self-belief: take a look and see!
I liked speaking in front of an audience - Lucas
I liked the quiz. I was brave speaking to all the people - Oliver
I liked that I was handing over the microphone for the quiz. I liked saying my line! - Adam
Assembly was so fun! I liked it because I got to see all my friends and the families - George
Building up the suspense in our stories!
This week we have been focusing on using adjective, adjective, noun phrases to enhance our descriptions. We used an image of a Haunted House to inspire some short burst writing.
We also looked at similes and discussed how using one can help to enhance the description of our character or setting.
We worked in teams to match up beginnings of similes to the matching endings.
Primary 5 Table Top Sale 💷
As part of their SOAR High Learning, Primary 5 pupils put on a table top sale in their classrooms. We loved going up and having a look at all of their hard work. Lots of the children purchased different items ranging from home-baking to second hand toys!
Thanks P5 - well done with all of your fundraising.
