Merry Christmas from P2 and 3! ❄️
We loved performing to our adults in the playground on the penultimate day of the year. The children enjoyed learning songs and actions and we couldn't wait to share the festive cheer!
Festive Music!
Christmas has come early in P3.2! In music we enjoyed putting our work on beats and rhythm into practise by using instruments. We used a mixture of egg sharkers and claves to make our music. A few people even got to try out the glockenspiels!
Take a look at our rendition of the Nutcracker 🎶
This week, we completed our Hot Task in our character writing. This is when we independently write and show off our skills to Miss Reynolds. Today, we were writing detailed character descriptions of the giant from our model text.
Reading Buddies! 📚
We invited our P6 reading buddies back down to our classroom this week. New partners enjoyed stories together.
Christmas Fun at PE 🎄
This week, we played a team game of Decorate the Christmas Tree! We enjoyed playing as a team and working on our balance and coordination!
Our new model text is Jack and the Beanstalk and we have been focusing on characterisation.
We started off by taking the character Jack and describing him using adjectives to describe his inside, personality traits and what he looks like on the outside! 🫛
We have now been innovating the original model text, by adapting the character of the giant. We had crystal sorcerers, cloud giants and even Christmas elves! We were challenged to create and describe them using a simile! 😄
🎵 Music with Mrs Lyall 🎶
This week we were practising beat and rhythm with partners.
Primary 6 Reading Buddies!
To kick of Festive Friday- We invited P6.2 down to our class to enjoy some time to share and read together. We had some children being read to, and some P3's even sharing their reading skills!
